From September 16 to 19, the Salon du Cycle in Paris once again drew in many bicycling enthusiasts. Visitors were able to discover all the latest advances in the field of cycling. The return of Solex, one of France's favorite brands, was joyously applauded.
Our two Solex stands displayed our entire line, and visitors were overjoyed to see them. Everyone had the chance to rediscover the e-Solex which once again played to perfection its role of brand ambassador and bridge between the past and what we are trying to construct for the future. To their great joy, visitors were able to observe, try out, and fold up the Velosolex. As for the launch of the Solexity, it rose to the height of the Solex reputation. It was such a show-stopper that even the passing Minister of Transport was passionately interested in it. Our display products were never left alone in the shadows and here is why: the people of France celebrate these heroes of the cycling world and are glad to have them back, taking center stage!

During Speed Week in August in Bonneville Fast, USA, the e-Solex once again attracted wide attention. It captured the new world speed record in the electric vehicle category, reaching velocity of 32.3 km/h.
For this occasion, MGF Easybike, the distributor of the Solex
brand in France, hired seasoned pilots that had already captured
several speed records. The objective was to propel e-Solex,
equipped just as it is sold in stores, to the top tier of the
winner's podium. Now it's a done deal!
Even though 3,800 registered to compete for this world record, it
was the e-Solex that brilliantly took home the victory.

Conceived during the Second World War by Marcel Menneson and Maurice Goddard, the Solex bikes were launched on the market in 1946.
In the difficult period of the post-war in France, there was a real need for an economic means of transport that didn't require a lot of energy. The Solex bike, whose price was lower than the average wage, and with very low fuel consumption, corresponded perfectly to these requirements.
While cars were just starting to gain popularity, the Solex had become established as a means of mass transport. The Solex would go on to become a legend and occupy a place of the first order in the history of transportation. Economically viable, aesthetically pleasing, easy to handle and safe, Solex enjoyed great success, selling over 8 million units between 1946 and 1988.
An icon of post-war France, the "bicycle that runs by itself" has left an impression on generations. At home in the city or the country, Solex owes its success to an ability to adapt to technical changes and requirements. Today, with its ecologically friendly electric power option, and innovative design, the Solex bikes represent new thinking and the freedom of smart mobility for the modern world.
